About Us

*Formally Known As:

WHO WE ARE: The name Misc-Etc. is an abbreviation of "Miscellaneous" (i.e. items of various types or from different sources, composed of diversity or elements of different kinds) and "Et cetera" (“et” meaning “and”, the word “cetera” meaning “the rest” in Latin). These descriptors cover the niche type of items and service offered. That magical feeling that comes on Christmas morning is what we hope to spread through every maker/brand promoted alongside the goods that are made in-house.

WHAT WE DO: We are a bit of a unicorn. A maker of arts&crafts AND a sourcing/directory-distributor hybrid for niche gift ideas. We also offer gift wrapping services (during the month of December). Our hope is to eventually become a brick and mortar gift shop where people can come see all our unique finds in person and always look forward to a new rotation of items every month.

WHEN we do it & WHERE we do it: Via our website here and our Instagram, all year long. We have also entered the artisan market events scene as of 2026!

WHY WE DO IT: For the joy of making more artisan small businesses/makers known and amplifying unique products. To encourage consumers to practice mindfulness with their purchases and support/connect with the artisan community in intentional ways. To be part of the solution and contribute towards the betterment & health of our Earth.

OUR FOUNDER, Ania S.

I remember the enjoyment I got out of drawing, coloring, and writing from a young age. But it was watching my mom fold our laundry in such a pristine way (an expectation during her time in the military) and seeing the similarities in the way she would wrap gifts during Christmas time that I felt was a subtle kind of artform. I grew to love wrapping and also all the occasions for gift-giving in itself. It gave me a chance to be creative and thoughtful; I got a thrill off hunting for the perfect unique and surprising gift.

Eventually I was led to work with photographers on different shoots as well as assisting during productions. After working at different advertising agencies, learning more about Marketing/HR/Operations, and volunteering with several nonprofit organizations, I have continued to further develop my entrepreneurial endeavors.

The first iterations of my ideas took many forms, however, it was a New Year's "resolution"(& the annoyance of spending too much at the tailor) that finally got me to explore my grandmother's vocation: sewing. This coupled with my passion for thrifting, sustainablility, holitistic wellness, & artisan small businesses/works led me to a new way of creating and exploring the possibilities.
